Formed in 1996 through the merger of French company Cacao Barry, founded in 1842, and Belgian producer Callebaut, established in 1850, it has grown into a global powerhouse headquartered in Zürich, Switzerland. The company operates 61 production sites across Europe, Africa, America, and Asia, including the world's largest chocolate factory in Wieze, Belgium, producing around 350,000 tons annually. Barry Callebaut serves multinational branded consumer goods manufacturers, as well as artisanal chocolatiers, pastry chefs, bakeries, and caterers, providing fully integrated solutions from cocoa beans to gourmet chocolate, cocoa butter, powder, and innovative products like ACTICOA with enhanced flavanols and low-sugar 'second generation' chocolate.
