About American Tower Corporation

American Tower Corporation is a global Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and leading independent owner and operator of wireless and broadcast communications real estate. The company develops, owns, and operates approximately 181,000 communications sites across more than 20 countries, including over 41,000 properties in the United States and more than 140,000 properties internationally. American Tower generates revenue primarily by leasing space on wireless towers and broadcast infrastructure to mobile carriers and broadcasters. Beyond traditional tower services, the company provides customized solutions including in-building systems, outdoor distributed antenna systems (DAS), rooftop management, and network deployment services. The company also installs backup generators at many sites to support uninterrupted service for tenants. American Tower's business model is characterized by long-term, non-cancellable tenant leases with built-in escalators, creating a stable and recurring revenue stream. Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, the company has established itself as a mission-critical infrastructure provider serving the global telecommunications and broadcasting industries.
