Celanese Corporation is a global chemical and specialty materials company that manufactures engineered polymers and chemical products serving diverse industries. The company operates through two primary segments: Engineered Materials and Acetyl Chain. The Engineered Materials segment produces nylon, polypropylene, polyoxymethylene, polyethylene and polybutylene terephthalates, thermoplastic elastomers, polyphenylene sulfide, and other high-performance polymers used in automotive, electronics, medical, building, and consumer applications. The Acetyl Chain segment encompasses integrated production of acetic acid and its downstream derivative chemicals, which serve coatings, adhesives, and various industrial end markets, along with emulsion polymers and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) polymers. Additionally, the company manufactures cellulose derivatives utilized in cigarette filters. Celanese maintains significant global production capacity and distribution networks, positioning it as one of the world's largest producers in both its acetic acid and specialty polymer categories.
