About Century Aluminum Company

Century Aluminum Company is a leading producer of primary aluminum, specializing in standard-grade and value-added products such as ingots, billets, sows, and high-purity aluminum. The company operates smelter facilities in the United States, including Hawesville, Kentucky, and Mount Holly, South Carolina, as well as Grundartangi in Iceland, enabling energy-efficient production with access to renewable energy sources. It also manages a carbon anode production facility in the Netherlands to support its smelting operations. Century Aluminum supplies low-carbon, high-purity aluminum to diverse sectors including automotive, packaging, consumer electronics, building and construction, industrial equipment, electrical, defense, aerospace, and machinery. A key customer is Glencore, which purchases nearly all of its North American production, while the company sources most of its alumina from the same partner. Currently, Century Aluminum holds a 40% stake in the Oklahoma Primary Aluminum project alongside EGA, aimed at enhancing domestic aluminum manufacturing through a new facility in Inola, Oklahoma. Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Century Aluminum plays a vital role in the global aluminum supply chain, emphasizing operational excellence and sustainability.
