It primarily serves customers through its Electric segment, which generates, purchases, distributes, and sells electricity to approximately 2.3 million residential, commercial, and industrial customers in southeastern Michigan using a mix of coal-fired plants, hydroelectric pumped storage, nuclear plants, wind, and solar assets. The Gas segment handles the purchase, storage, transportation, distribution, and sale of natural gas to 1.4 million customers across Michigan, along with storage and transportation capacity sales. DTE Vantage delivers energy and utility-type products and services to industrial, commercial, and institutional customers, produces reduced emissions fuel, and sells electricity and pipeline-quality gas from renewable energy projects. The Energy Trading segment manages energy marketing and trading operations, while Corporate and Other includes holding company activities and investments supporting regional development. Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, DTE Energy Company plays a vital role in providing reliable energy infrastructure to Michigan's communities and industries.
