Through its subsidiary, Ellington Financial Operating Partnership LLC, it focuses on mortgage-related assets, including residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) backed by prime jumbo, Alt-A, non-QM, manufactured housing, subprime residential, and single-family rental loans, as well as those guaranteed by U.S. government agencies or sponsors. The company also invests in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), residential and commercial mortgage loans, consumer loans, asset-backed securities, collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), mortgage servicing rights (MSRs), credit risk transfer securities (CRTs), non-mortgage and mortgage-related derivatives, and strategic investments such as debt and equity in loan origination companies. Operating in two main segments, Investment Portfolio and Longbridge, Ellington Financial Inc. provides exposure to a broad spectrum of fixed-income and credit opportunities within the mortgage and real estate finance markets.
