Prudential plc is a British-domiciled multinational insurance and asset management company headquartered in London and Hong Kong. Founded in 1848 as The Prudential Mutual Assurance, Investment, and Loan Association, it initially provided life insurance and loans to the UK's middle and working classes through innovative door-to-door agents. Today, Prudential plc focuses on long-term savings and protection products, including life insurance, accident and health coverage, annuities, pensions, and investment solutions, primarily serving over 19 million customers in Asia and Africa. Its operations span 24 markets, such as China, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria, supported by more than 530,000 agents and extensive bank partnerships. The asset management arm, Eastspring Investments, manages substantial funds with a focus on Asian opportunities and sustainability, aiming for net-zero emissions by 2050. Prudential plc plays a pivotal role in emerging markets, addressing health, wealth, and welfare needs amid economic challenges, while committing to climate risk management for stakeholders.
